Education & Experience

Born in Rochester, New York, Dr. Kris Togias completed his early education in Greece. Upon returning to the United States, Dr. Togias completed his undergraduate degree in biology and chemistry from the University of Rochester before moving to Boston.

He earned his dental degree from Tufts University School of Dental Medicine and completed a postgraduate specialty residency in orthodontics and maxillofacial orthopedics.

Background & Philosophy

As a dentist with additional and specialized treatment in orthodontics, Dr. Togias recognizes various characteristics of a malocclusion or dentofacial deformity. He’ll define the nature of the problem, including the etiology, to design a treatment strategy based on your specific needs and goals.

Dr. Togias provides comprehensive, high-quality orthodontic care focused on individualized treatment to meet the unique needs of patients of all ages.

While treating early orthodontic and adolescent cases, Dr. Togias also specializes in managing issues in children with growth and development concerns and syndromes such as:

Meet Dr. Nickolay

Education & Experience

Olivier Nicolay, a native of France, was born in Lorraine and grew up near Paris, where he earned his Docteur en Chirurgie Dentaire (DDS) from the Université Paris 5 René Descartes.

After two years in private practice, he enrolled at the Harvard School of Dental Medicine in Boston for three years to study orthodontics and conduct research. At the end of his studies, he earned a certificate in orthodontics and a master’s degree in medical sciences.

Career & Accomplishments

Because of his experience in research and to gain more knowledge and experience, Dr. Nicolay decided to pursue an academic career. He served five years at the Ohio State University, then went to New York for the program director position in the Department of Orthodontics at Columbia University.

After earning a Doctor of Dental Surgery from Columbia, Dr. Nicolay started a private practice in the present location with his original partner.

Now at New York University, he has been director of the advanced education program in orthodontics and associate chair of the department of orthodontics for nine years.

Dr. Nicolay is a diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics and an active member of the Edward H. Angle Society of Orthodontists. He also holds regular memberships in the American Association of Orthodontists® and the American Dental Association®.

Meet Dr. Moskowitz

Dr. Elliott Moskowitz has been providing high-quality orthodontic treatment for many years. Patients travel from all across New York for expert care and top-notch results.

Dr. Moskowitz has trained hundreds of orthodontists at NYU College of Dentistry and other dental and orthodontic institutions nationally and internationally as an expert clinical orthodontist.

It's not uncommon to find that Dr. Moskowitz trained many orthodontists practicing in Manhattan in the university setting or the office itself. NYU College of Dentistry even has an orthodontic clinical facility in Dr. Moskowitz's name.

Dr. Moskowitz is a second-generation orthodontist, dating back to 1937 when Dr. Hyman Moskowitz became a private practice orthodontist. Dr. Moskowitz has been treating second and third generations of patients initially treated by his father.

Kathrin Praedikow was born in Cologne, Germany. She went to school and graduated from the University of Cologne with a degree in dentistry and a Ph.D. in dentistry.

Dr. Praedikow worked in a multi-specialty dental office for three years before she and her husband moved to New York City. She attended New York University College of Dentistry, earning another Doctor of Dental Surgery degree and a postgraduate degree in orthodontics and maxillofacial orthopedics.

During her postgraduate program, Dr. Praedikow was the co-director of the orthodontic honor program for dental students, where she taught dental students the basics of orthodontics.

We have had the best experience with Dr. Karam and Family Orthodontics. My daughter is very sensitive and has anxiety around doctors. Dr. Karam and her team took care of my daughter with patience and caring. Their care is top of the line; my daughter’s palate was narrow and overcrowded and now her teeth are beautiful and I don’t have to worry about potential complications in the future bc of her bite. Do you ever wish you could go back in time? Just far enough to redo your dental experience. That’s exactly how I feel about my experience here in my 40's.

It’s honestly hard to single out just one person because every single team member gives 110%, and they somehow manage to do it with real genuine smiles, not the forced kind. You walk in smiling, and you leave thinking, “Well… that was actually pleasant. When do I come back?” Which is not a thought you expect to have about orthodontic appointments.

Everything runs professionally and thoughtfully, with a clear plan and timeline so you always know what’s happening and why. The clinic is fully equipped with the latest technology, and for those of us who aren’t teenagers anymore and may have more “complex” situations, they don’t just wing it. They refer and work with the right specialists to make sure the end result is done right with the full attention your mouth needs.

Speaking of results...I love mine!! I now look for reasons to laugh and smile more, just to show them off. If you’re on the fence, don’t be, SERIOUSLY. This is one of those rare experiences that you'll leave feeling part of a family.
